Warranty Terms and Expectations

Warranty- Currahee Coatings warrantied all products against defects or application errors. We do everything per cerakote specifications to ensure this never happens but will take care of you.
Do note- Normal wear/tear is not a warranty service. This includes holster wear, metal on metal. Cerakote is incredible in terms of durability, rust and corrosion prevention and lubricity but it is still a coating.

Pistol Breech Faces– You will see the cerakote burn/blow off from the breech face. It is creating 500+ lb/ft energy for every trigger pull with 115g… no coating/anodizing etc will survive that.

Ridges and Valleys- Cerakote is created with a 100g aluminum oxide blast profile at 80-100psi to create ridges/valleys. This in fact gets the cerakote (and protection of it) into those grooves. So even if you see bare metal…it is still protected.

Metal to Metal Contact- Cerakote is only as hard as the material it is going on…aluminum is a soft metal so metal to metal (sharp contact points, guns falling into each other in the safe, hard impacts) are going to create surface abrasions. This is normal and under normal wear and tear. Take care of your items…but also use the heck out of em. Bring it back in to get cerakoted when it’s time for a complete reapplication.

Pivoty PIn Contacts/Slide Rails etc- Metal to metal right? So these will wear eventually (which is good). Remember the cerakote is in the blast profile so your item still retains the protection properties. Its normal wear and tear.

Tolerances-Some tolerance (*cough Noveske cough* are so tight that even anodizing creates friction points. Cerakote is the thinnest coating available…but some upper/lower/pin locations are tight. We at Currahee Coatings can’t have a say in the manufacturers tolerances and engineering design. These will cause friction points and wear the cerakote. It does not impede the function etc.

Firing- Go shoot it! A lot! If you experience some issues in cycling etc, just keep shooting. It will wear any point of the cerakote away through repetition. This isn’t a common thing for us (in fact we have never seen it) but sometimes cerakote will get in areas we can’t see and create some high points. Just shoot it and they will naturally resolve themselves. If it is a safety issue- Please contact us for assistance/gunsmithing!

Refunds

We typically do not offer refunds. This is a heavily involved manual service that requires a significant time commitment and amount of labor. The first step is to contact us and talk with us about the issues you are having and allow us the attempt to correct whatever mistake there is. The purpose of the Warranty terms above is to set your expectations. This isn’t a “do all fix” just like anodizing, powder coating, or any other surface coating. What cerakote brings to the table is the rust and corrosion resistance coupled with easier lubricity. It will extend the life and finish of your parts where anodizing will do nothing and cause pitting/rust and ultimately fail.

If for some reason our attempt at rectifying doesn’t work (highly doubtful- We will evaluate and determine if it is a second application error and if so refund. This must be done within days of receiving the item. We take thorough documentation and photographs (mil gauge, coverage etc) so we will know what was there and what wasn’t.
